Westminster Nursery School

Early Years Foundation Stage

Vision Statement 2021/22

At Westminster Nursery School we strive to value all children equally ensuring they are understood as individuals and are nurtured to reach their full potential.

We are committed to providing a caring and inspiring environment where community and parental links are paramount.

Our VALUES/AIMS are to:

  • Provide a safe, happy and nurturing environment where all children feel accepted and their needs are met.
  • Build strong homeschool links to benefit each individual child, keeping parents/carers informed and involved in their child’s education.
  • Develop a sense of independence and a respect for others and the environment.
  • Ensure stimulating, practical, inspiring and exciting learning experiences for all.
  • Develop a ‘can do’ attitude that will stay with a child for life, where children feel happy to explore new experiences, are resilient when presented with challenge and can ‘bounce back’ to try again when a goal isn’t immediately reached.
  • Develop self-esteem and a secure sense of belonging, with an awareness of cultural differences.
  • Ensure all transitions are smooth and successful for each child.
  • Ensure that all children make sustained progress across the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Ensure that commitments to ongoing improvements are maintained.
  • Give our children the best possible start to their school life, teaching those skills which ensure their well-being now and success in the future.
